Courses Offered:

 

MARKETING 1A 

Elective: Grade 9,10,11,12

Semester Course Credit: .50

 

This course is offered Fall Semester only. Marketing activities are found in every type of business enterprise. This course will cover the following basic marketing principles:  Marketing Research, Financing, Pricing, and Selling.  

 

MARKETING 1B

Elective: Grade 9,10,11,12

Semester Course Credit: .50

 

This course is offered Spring Semester only. Marketing activities are found in every type of business enterprise. This course will cover the following basic marketing principles: Promotion/Advertising, Social Media Marketing, Product Management, and Distribution.

 

MARKETING 2A

Prerequisites: Completion of at least one of the following: Marketing 1A or 1B, Accounting 1 or above, Personal Finance, Media, Leadership, AIM Leadership, Computer Tech 1 or above.

Elective: Grade 10, 11, 12

Semester Course Credit: .50

 

This course is offered Fall Semester only. Participants in the class will be responsible for running The Dog Town Market, West Albany’s student store. Areas of management will include: Accounting, Purchasing/Inventory Management, Personnel Management, Graphic Design, Advertising, Promotions, and Shift Manager. In addition to store management duties students will participate in classroom activities and projects in the areas of Information Management, Financing, Pricing, and Selling. If you are interested in going into business, this class is for you! We need YOU to help make the Dog Town Market into a successful and profitable business. *Applications are available from the Counseling Office or any business teacher.*
